What’s the story with the willingness/ability of Phillips or Conway to keep?

The only pretence behind Seifert playing is him being an opener. If he’s batting 7 then he’s just completely wasting a spot while we choose to weaken our bowling.

Phillips definitely a no to keeping - as good as Guptill in the field and a part-time spinner (would be madness imo and could retrigger some of his old keeping injuries which is why he stopped in the 1st place). Conway kept in at least one of the warm ups which is something, but doing under massive pressure in big games on turning pitches is a huge ask.

Seifert batted as a finisher 5/6 perhaps in the CPL this year I think.

Can anyone explain why mitchell, who was great in the middle order last t20 blast and who did well vs banga in the middle order last summer is now opening, and seirfet, the opener, who did well against pak opening, is a finisher??? Makes no sense. You swap those two and this lineup is WAY better

Mitchell opened in the warm ups. Did pretty well - retired against Aus for 30 something, but Seifert and Conway are both experienced T20 openers.

I thought he was tall and fairly strong for ages. Then I realised he's actually shorter than me.
