Finally. Hideously compelling innings. Not often one sees a bloke wrestling with his own lack of form so palpably at this level in this format.

Comentator on Sky described the innings as a 'little bit painful to watch'

Understatement of the year?

Yep, 16 off 34 must be one of the all-time worst T20 innings batting first on a decent track.

They need close to 20 an over in the remaining overs to post a competitive score on this deck tbh

This is not about the SA government, this is a CSA stance. And while it is a political and social issue, whataboutism helps nobody here.
SA-goverment / CSA not much difference, nothing wrong with a whataboutism when its correct

The old truism that strength is the last thing to go definitely seems to apply to Christopher Henry Gayle.

He got nowhere near that; right off the cue end of the bat but it clears the rope with plenty to spare.

Never mind, I looked at the other Dubai results. This is the deck the Windies were skittled for 55 with four wickets for Adil Rashid and India made 150ish.

On the other hand Pakistan won by 10 wickets... but yeah you probably don't need 180 on this deck.

Copy pasta from another cricket forum:

Most balls in a T20 WC match without hitting a boundary
35 Alok Kapali (14) v SA Cape Town 2007
35 Matt Cross (26*) v Oman Al Amerat 2021
35 Lendl Simmons (16) v SA Dubai 2021

Whatever it takes!!!
Given RSA's history and the recent findings about CSA and the team, I can totally understand why CSA wanted a single unified gesture. QdK not taking the knee is fine but he should have accepted to at least put the fist up or some other gesture that the rest of the team can all do. Him not being willing to do any of the gestures means he has some explaining to do. This is not a good look for QdK.

On the game itself, quietly think RSA can get this. And yeah, I know I said De Kock should have at least put his fist up.

Mine will not be a popular opinion, but if there is one part of society where it is abundantly obvious black lives matter, it's professional sport. The NBA, American Football and to bring it back to cricket, CSA's racial quota policy, actively discriminates against non-blacks.

And to force people into actively 'protesting', really makes a mockery of its cause.
