Imran

Gooch
Anwar

Lara

Wasim
Donald

Ambrose is the first change since these two are the swingers lol and need the hard pull lol
Wasn't Donald known for being a 1st change because he couldn't control the swinging ball optimally

well Kapil gets the nod 8-7

Gavaskar
Greenidge
Viv
Miandad
Border
Imran 3
Dujon +
Kapil 5
Hadlee 2
Marshall 1
Garner 4

choose the captain for this side then

pick the opening batsmen for the 90s side
pick the number 3
pick the opening bowlers
God I really hope this side will run in to 00s team with hopefully both Murali and Warne in it on a before drop in Adelaide like pitch so the selectors will be made to look like complete morons and rightly so

Saeed Anwar has a pretty impressive overall record (better than I thought certainly). Any idea why he played so little? Vaguely remember something like him losing his daughter and taking up religion. Something like that (losing someone close not taking up religion) can do that to a man

But this team will massacre 00s side at Gabba, Perth , MCG and SCG. So 4-1 to 80s side.

Yeah nah. 00s side would still have McGrath and Steyn spearheading the attack and enough runs from Hayden, Ponting, Lara and Kallis to bowl at not to mention a counter attacking hundred or two from Gilchrist. No massacres anywhere tbh

Add to that Warne loves the Gabba when the cracks open up and Murali and Warne in tandem in Sydney. 4-1 is beckoning indeed but not the way you assume

Hayden and Ponting won't last 5 overs against Marshall and Hadlee. Lara was never that good against express pace. SCG being spin friendly is biggest myth. Once again it is 4-1 to 80s side.

Warne averages 31 in Aus in 2000. And no one in ATG 80s side average more than 28 in AUS with 4 bowlers averaging < 25.

Keep your nationality bias aside , which is strong bowling attack: Marshall, Garner, Hadlee , Imran, Kapil vs McGrath, Steyn, Warne, Murali, Kallis.

Lol. The biggest myth is some people believing certain modern players are going to be sitting ducks against attacks from the past but the truth is far worse players have made runs against them. Good on you if you believe anyone is going to massacre

Hayden
Sehwag
Ponting
Dravid
Lara
Kallis
Gilchrist
Warne
Steyn
Murali
McGrath

At any time anywhere but I assume its bit too early to start drinking in India

Ftr Tendulkar had a good run post 07 so he may replace Dravid that would make them easily superior to the 80s imo

Former is massively one dimensional compared to the latter but might work in certain conditions

We will see soon which side is rated higher in voting. But I don't see any side bettering 80s because of their enormous batting depth

Ftr I really like to get Flintoff in somewhere for the 00s side but it's a discussion for a different time

Lol, the 80s side is clearly better than this one under most conditions IMO. The 2000s would only stand a chance on dust bowls. 4-1 to the 80s indeed.

Bowling wise, they are equals.
Marshall=McGrath
Garner =Steyn
Imran =Warne
Hadlee =Murali
Kapil= Kallis

What wins it for 80s is the great batting depth with all their bowlers being good batsmen too.

Took ages to come on, Pakistan I think played a lot more ODI's in the 90's than Tests, and then his career ended early-ish for the reasons you said.

Kapil was a much better bowler than Kallis. But yes, the main difference is the batting depth of the 80s side.
