I know no one asked my opinion but I'll give it anyway even if it adds nothing new. It really was a terrible post and my response in the thread was less joking and more 'wtf'. Like, who was it even trolling? Noumenon or whatever isn't even Pakistani, so was it meant to piss off trundler or me and.. I don't even know who else is left from Pak fan perspective but I guess Fusion? It was really tone deaf in a thread where everyone was already bagging on Pakistani fans based on reactions from PCB, ex-players, and ****ing PakPassion. Kick me while I'm down yeah? I know he went back and made the edit, but it was many hours later, everyone had already seen it and reported it, and I had gone back to it multiple times wondering wtf he was thinking.
I will echo what some of the others have said. The verbiage used by sledger here and in the past is very much representative of some of the racial abuse I've certainly put up with in my time here in the states. That uppity nose-in-the-air attitude while talking about my motherland certainly reminds me of all the times I told someone where I'm from and be greeted by "well at least you're honest" (yeah its funny but feels like ****). But I want to be clear in saying that not once did I think sledger is racist or had that intention. Just like Uppercut said in a post earlier, I always assumed he just didn't realize the impact words like that have. My biggest regret up to now is not reaching out to sledger directly and having a chat with him, which is precisely what I meant to do after he made that "corrupt culture" post but unfortunately life got in the way and I forgot all about it.
In any case, I really don't see anyone wanting to go back on the ban, and the whole situation sucks because it feels odd having him banned on not telling us how things are going with sledger jnr.
Also, cut trundloo a break you ****s. He is an athiest kid in Pakistan in a town that just moved past tanga buggies
. This whole thing is way more personal for him than all of you.
