" Instead, the arrival of Bumrah meant all bets were off. As if his smiling visage wasn't enough to get under England's skin, his first act was to ask Haseeb Hameed at short leg to kneel before him and tie up his dangling shoe-lace, potentially a coincidence, but an expertly inserted length of needle either way "

Needlessly provocative from Miller. Watched this live and there was nothing insinuated there at all.

Puke worthy narrative farming, that.

I would like to see Sundar getting a spot in the middle order once he is fit. Rahane and Pujara, though, have probably sealed their positions for the near future.

It was Anderson wot did it.
Nice try, but captains are appointed to captain people. If Anderson's approach was at fault, the captain's there to sort him out, and certainly not leave the rest of the attack in any doubt what was required. Can you imagine your man Border tolerating that approach?

I think all England fans saying things like 180 is a difficult score cannot be watching this game. This is an absolute road and although Sibley, Burns and Hameed are slightly suspect, I refuse to believe Bairstow, Butler, Curran and Root can all give their wickets away here. The only hope for India is that Rishabh Pant gets going and knocks things north of 220-lead.
Bonafide pessimistic idiot. This was unbelievable batting by Shami and Bumrah and tremendous bowling by Bumrah, Siraj and Ishant. Just unbelievable. Bumrah's dismissal of Robinson was genius and Siraj is a superstar in the making. Ishant was third-fiddle but what tremendous deliveries to Hameed and Bairstow. I think those were very good deliveries to bowl and dismissals with the least fault. Hameed is in his rights to not expect that level of late swing and Bairstow was beaten on the inside edge to one which nipped back.

Agreed - ridiculous commentary.

Unprecedented…

Looking forward to watching the highlights. Laughable from England really. Never got the Indian pessimism at the start of the series, even more so when you look at englands batting. They’re awful.

Truly though, I don’t think anyone gives a **** if Anderson wants to gob off. It’s just that when he cops it back, his jaw is not so much glass as it is made by Waterford.

Kohlli carries on like a knob at times (plenty do) but he takes as much as he gives without looking like he’s going to burst into tears.

You’d expect Anderson would have learnt something after the 2013/14 Ashes. In fact, might go and put some MJ highlights on now to start the day right.

I do see that Bumrah managed to dismiss a tail-ender with a change of pace last night. I wonder if there are any lessons to be taken here for bowlers from, say, Australia.

Nah, who am I kidding? Give'm another endless spell of long-hops. That'll do it.

Well he hasn't played in them yet, and a bit presumptuous of you to assume they will be on, let alone that Anderson will be alive to play.

I watched noted Australian all rounder Agar's debut v England the other day because obviously.

Obviously only highlights but "beefy" getting more and more annoyed as it goes on is amusing. Finn didn't seem to realise that Agar wasn't a standard number 11 until the innings was over?‍♂

Thought that knock was going to be the resurgence of his career.
