What happens if they play Ajaz and god forbid he has to be replaced for concussion? Wouldn't it be wiser to keep either Santner or Ravindra back? Signs Ajaz won't be playing?

Yeah, same thing if you need cover for the allrounder. Unnecessary.

True in tests but not in ICC tourneys. :) This is a mix of both, so let us see which history prevails.

I think we're absolutely at the point now where he should play everywhere. Even if you don't think he'll be a major threat with the ball in certain conditions, his work as the fifth bowler in a holding role challenging one edge would surely be worth enough as a bonus to get him ahead of whichever sixth batsman you think is marginally better than him on batting alone. I'm not even entirely convinced there are six batsmen (excluding Pant) better than him anymore.

Jadeja first name on the team sheet IMO, indispensable and has a history of fronting up against NZ going back to 2014.

Also, regarding the debate in the earlier pages, I think both RTB and Harsh are right. NZ definitely have an advantage that would have sparked off big 3 conspiracy theories if it was given to India but I think there are enough balanced Kiwi supporters here who would have still felt the game would be even, although I do think a lot of them saying its even at the moment are kinda Gambhiring or juz being the NZ supporters who have been bitten too many times in the past when they thought they had a world beating side.

But I think RTB would have still felt the game was even just based on how I read him as a poster in CC. He would have still stuck in a few Simpson memes to make fun of India but in his heart of hearts, he is still a kiwi fan who cannot get ahead of himself and be braggy about NZ's chances in a cricket game, lol.

I don't think it's even because I don't trust our team, I think it's even because the Indian team are pretty good.

Having said that I'm also very catty so I'll only be posting here if we're winning.

This whole Indian team is very good means bupkis in England. Their batting is as likely to fold as not, esp since NZ don't drop catches like the English did last time against India.
