Man give me Zampa over Chahal any day of the week. The lengths he bowls are perfect for a leggie in India.
Agar can be easy to line up if there are left handers but he is not bad. In fact if Aussies want a shot at the test series in India in future he should be in the mix. Left arm spinners who bowl quicker & have a solid arm ball in their arsenal can cause trouble in India. Axar Jadeja work well in India for same reason.

For WTC I think if India picks a solid XI which is looking likely they will win. NZ failed to run through a weak English line up somehow & in Rose bowl they'll find it tough against India. Boult is key man for them.
i agree to the extent that good spinners who can do that cause trouble but i don’t think the agar jadeja comparison is a workable one

Looking at the almost full house of jabbed and tested spectators at Edgbaston it seems a bit odd that only 4,000 are going to be allowed here.

Dave Warner has debuted as a pundit for an Indian channel. He feels India should play SIraj. Per him, the whole AUS team in the BG series felt he hit difficult lengths, and was at them all the time. Very difficult to negotiate.

The consensus is building that not picking Siraj would be a blunder.

OTOH, we have braindead ex-cricketers like Agarkar and Parthiv insisting Shami is ahead of even Bumrah.

Shami and Siraj approximate each other's skillsets so the choice has to be between them. An on-song Shami in English conditions would be a dream but what are the chances of that happening? Siraj would certainly offer more consistency and stamina, not to mention you don't want to risk both Shami and Ishant in the same match.

Shami is naturally short of a length and gets floaty when he goes full. Siraj is naturally on the fuller side but has a sharp bouncer. A point also noted in passing by the erudite Warner.

Where did you get the four day match information? BCCI tweet mentioned this being a match simulation so batsmen playing their order and the bowlers bowling, and everyone else fielding. Not quite an intra-squad match.

More importantly, Siraj has been around and playing for a while - Shami's been out of it. I know it's a huge ask, but we need to play Siraj in the Final.

Heard that it was something like main batsmen vs Main bowler type match simulation which is even better I think.
BCCI twitter showed it was end of Day 1 & someone on Twitter said it was a 4 day affair.

Will an Indian audience be able to understand him? I struggle sometimes tbh.

From NZ's perspective I think we probably have to play 5 bowlers. I can't see leaving out a spinner as a good idea, and I also can't fathom leaving out Wagner or Boult. I think Mitchell and CdG have to miss out

Rachin debuting earlier might have made this easier...

I think Boult should not play. Ajaz, Wagner, Southee, Jamieson and CdG cover all bases. The Indian batters have seen a lot of Boult recently, if they're prepared to play anyone it will be him.

NZ's top 6 is looking really solid ATM. I think you all are comfortably favourites here. India will need to pull off some Gabba-esque miracle.
