England’s attack being like 10000 times better than their batting kinda makes it even though.Honestly I reckon Doull is a professional Gambhirer.
"A pretty even day".
Well admittedly the last two wickets have righted the ledger slightly, but losing 7 poles on a largely benign deck having chosen to bat definitely puts us in the red overall, IMHO.
Rather keep Ajaz than fall back on Santner but I think Santner will be back next game unless Ajaz picks few more wickets. Very much depends on how we bat as well. If we go all right with the bat then jazz maybe picked. Barring Young this is pretty much our batting line up. If we botch it and Ajaz only picks a wicket or two more then can't see him making the line up particularly against India.I don't think anyone is arguing Ajaz is our best spinner and should be playing in any match that might be decided by spin. We just generally don't play in conditions where that occurs and he isn't quite as good as the real top quality blokes like Lyon that warrant a spot regardless of conditions.
They can't pick Santner, honestly they can't. India will be absolutely crossing every appendage they have that he plays.Rather keep Ajaz than fall back on Santner but I think Santner will be back next game unless Ajaz picks few more wickets. Listening to The Analyst podcast summary of the day, One of them (I can't tell difference between the Simons, Mann and Hughes) has a win predictor software. Has England 60%, NZ 22%, Draw 18%.Honestly I reckon Doull is a professional Gambhirer.
