Extremely professional win for ZCC on home turf today. Elected to bowl first at the toss, and kept the higher-ranked (but lower rated) opposition to just 133/8. No bowler conceded more than 29 runs, left-arm quicks Arif Jalal and Chung Yiu taking 3 a piece in somewhat seamer-friendly conditions.

The pitch was still pretty good to bat on, as exhibited by Sajith D Estandau, who hit 86* off 59 balls to lead us to a 7-wicket victory inside 18 overs.

Not sure if we've done enough for the bonus point, and also looking at other results it seems that this win won't pull us out of the relegation zone yet. But hey, a win is a win. 2 more weeks to go, got to bank as many points as we can and just hope for the best.

ZCC's YP was kind of a dud. 36 pot bowler with 20 accuracy pot, but very low starting skills. On the market for a bit, and then he'll be released.

GG CC versus the Band-Aids

GG CC batted first. 237 for 7 in 20 overs. Peter Sutherland with an unbeaten 90 off 44 balls (7x4, 6x6), Bram Human 47 (17) with 4x4, 6x6, and captain Ernst Levy with 45 off 24 balls (3x4, 3x6)

The Band-Aids 53 all out. Roger Attlee with 5 for 13 (4), Kasun Obeysekere with 3 for 11 (2.4)

Big win for the NRR

Bowled out for 120 (16.3). Jeff Camp top-score with 36, Trilby with 21, and McCormack with 18*

Just hoping for a decent bowling performance with debutant Henton into the mix.

This is an absolute bitch of a league. Facing relegation despite a 50% win rate! Got games against Mordialloc CC and Greenfielders coming up, hopefully we pick up some wins to keep us in Div 2 next season as well.

FHK's luck with young talent continues. Wali Rana is a useful spin bowling allrounder for a newer side, up on the TM for 0

Low starting skills tho, so a bit of a project.

Yessssss... got just who I was hoping for in a top-order bat and almost-useful part-time spinner. This guy, 44 pot is definitely ideal. I'm keeping him. Shame no batting characteristics and bad fielding. Simmonds has great stamina, also good captain in future but I've got a very promising 16yo keeping with one more captain pot than Simmonds.

I'm going to cut a couple of players from my squad in Armstrong and Hyde so I just have 17 players, 13 Dev.

Good 50 from Peter Sutherland!

Going alright with the bat. 180 will be competitive. Runs on the board, then hope your bowlers can nick a few out early.

Had a friendly vs @Marcuss... sadly was a thrashing given by my full-strength side. Murray Crichton hit 26 (62), but otherwise the Astronauts' top 6 scored 5 5s. The leaving Austin Hyde nabbed 3-3 (6) and to-be club legend Steve Ludlow got 3-6 (7) to leave Ashgrove 66 all out. My openers chased that down within the powerplay, Shaffrey slowly and Frost quickly. I'll field a weaker side next time.

O/U on FHK chase: 35 ovs.
Took us 33.3 overs, winning run was a no-ball.

Sutherland and Christo Theron (54* off 71) batter well for Moo but they needed more support. Roger Attlee dismissed Chow and Law cheaply, but Qasim Abdullah hit a Friendly 50 over career best 81* and skipper Tin Yau 62* to ease us home with no further hiccups.

A win in all formats over GG CC in the books, the next time we play them we'll look to rest some of the seniors.

30mins to the 11th ZCC vs Dynamo Morpork clash, this time in the Juniors.

It is 8-2 to ZCC. The Dynamo has pinched a couple of T20 upsets.

Last time a dev match was played, ZCC bowled us out for 84. Arif Jalal probably returns, Maurits "Mats" Grobbelaar will surely be welcomed by the fans, and Dan Ahsan and Stu Garner are wild cards.

Batting order: +Mthabela, Hughes, Kotze, Fouche jr., Marita, Goliath, van Heerdens*
Bowlers: Sharif Alam, Fred Clarke, Charlie Bungay, Ralph Arnold, van Heerdens, Fouche jr.

Arif Jalal has aged out unfortunately. Danial Ahsan is the skipper in his stead.

After getting thrashed by Winton CC we have opted to bat first again upon winning the toss. Some slight tweaks in the orders. Pitch has something in it for the new ball but should be nice to bat on in the 2nd half of the innings. Let's hope we score more than 130.

Two ex-Dynamos opening the batting for ZCC - Gorbbelaar and Tudor.

Expert preview gives a 3K advantage to the Dynamos. Their middle order rates an impressive 50K, and they're a better fielding team too. We should bowl better with the new ball (primarily thanks to Ramalingam), and our tail is slightly stronger, but otherwise we're outrated in every department.

Disastrous start - Tudor cleaned up by Sharif Alam in the 2nd over. Decent ball, poor technique. Skipper Danial Ahsan in early.

Menno Fouche drops Danial Ahsan for 8 in the 9th over off Van Heerdens.

Tough chance, bit of luck for us. Hope the skipper capitalizes on this.
