Jamieson is a fine bowler but I reckon that he’s just rolling his arm over at 135

Wouldnt surprise me at all if he cranked it up to 145 one day in the same way that Garner did
Garner was apparently similar pace to Jamieson.

Garner, in fact, is not really fast. The top men generate speed through the air of between 90 and 95 miles an hour, if the scientific measurements are to be believed. Garner would be between 75 and 80. Where he is most awkward is in the sharp life he can achieve from his immense height. The steeper the lift, the more difficult it becomes to counter - hence Garner's success.

Santa puts a bit of revs but just doesn't hit the seam angled. No grip and no movement.

The **** people talk about Garner is the best argument for old cricket being ****. Basically “he was 6’8” and therefore unplayable”.

So where does Southee’s bowling this morning fit into Skyliner’s analysis of outlier Saffers and mediocre overrated kiwis?

Not sure where runs are coming for Eng with this top-middle order. Apart from Root (and Burns for plain doggedness) the rest are journeymen at best. Pope has the pedigree but issues with concentration perhaps? Once Stokes and Buttler (not that he's a significant improvement) are back, it might be worth it to send him up at 3, see how he copes with the extra responsibility.

Robinson continuing the modern English tradition of nuggety bowling all-rounders.

Jeez, utter Horlicks from Watling there.

Santner took it remarkably well considering. Did Burns up like the proverbial kipper.

Santa had one chance to get a wicket, BJ... Kane has taken the new ball. Not sure why? Santa was causing few issues to burns. Should have persisted couple more overs. So burns can't play spin? It wasn't like spitting of the deck.

Yeah, racist wuckfit notwithstanding, can play a bit.

Came in on debut with off-field issues all over the meedja, his side in the mire having lost 3 wickets for literally nothing and he's shown proper application and a bit of intestinal fortitude.

so nice of the ecb to set aside some grounds to give nz some warm up games for the wtc final but it's a shame they've given them this mickey mouse team to have a hit out against tbh
