JBMAC, many of us haven't seen Engineer play. Since you have seen him play and say that he is much better than Dhoni/Pant, we can have Engineer play at 7 in this team instead of Dhoni. Gives more solidity in keeping and hence, he will be a perfect fit in the team.

Have not seen Engineer at all. But it is interesting that there were no world class pacers in our team back then, so not sure how he would have done keeping to them.

i think i'd put strauss to bat 3 and i'm not sure i'd pick both stokes and flintoff, both good players but fulfil the exact same role, rather have s. jones if i know i can get something at its peak (so cook gooch strauss root kp/ugh stokes prior swann broad jones jimmeh)
that said Straya would win 4-1 it's just a lot less wonky team. You don't get the years when the ATG Aussies had to play with Marcus North and/or a bowling attack completely unsuited to the conditions.

Would definitely pick Stokes and Flintoff. Flintoff as a bowler alone probably makes it and Stokes as a bat alone probably makes it. Makes no sense to leave all-rounders out just because they have extra skills.
