Whatever it takes!!!
after it hit his front pad, yeah.um he smashed the cover off it

I don't know how you can possibly make a judgment that it "brushed the pad" though. The deviation surely has to be decisive. It does do that, but I think the right side of the ball might have actually touched the pad before that happened.
No question he hit it or that it deviated, just whether it brushed the pad before any of that happened. I think it's really hard to tell.
Another 20 runs or so yet, let’s not get carried away!Since absolutely nothing is going on in this test, and England have a lead now, isn't it time to discuss when England should declare?
does it at the referral stage? at that point you're looking for clear evidence to overturn the decision, which im not sure there was despite agreeing it was not outGood call, that should always go to the batsman.
bhogle, Swann, Agarkar where I'm at. Siva's part of the same team though.Isn't it Shivvers on comms? Or this is another station?
I think the standing umpire just missed the edge live entirely. I did.the mid-off angle made it look like pad first, what we really needed was snicko/ultra edge with that angle to clarify. Or hotspot even.
I figure if there is doubt it's not out, so in that sense it's the right call, but then also don't you need conclusive evidence to overturn the onfield call? In which case the evidence wasn't conclusive that it was not out either.
Difficult call. Either way, I'm not giving that out live. Ump had to be really sure it was pad first to give that.
maybe that's the plan all alongAs thoroughly entertaining and captivating as this is, such a shame we get a decent crowd back in watching Test cricket and we produce a pitch that may result in a two-day Test match.
They should have umpire's call for inside edge tooGood call, that should always go to the batsman.
Wrong multi?India MOANING about the decision again. Should just GET ON WITH IT. Otherwise they'll get smashed.
Very true.Don't think Bess would have bowled this well.
On field ump plainly cheatingUmp had to be really sure it was pad first to give that.
Entertaining > complainingAs thoroughly entertaining and captivating as this is, such a shame we get a decent crowd back in watching Test cricket and we produce a pitch that may result in a two-day Test match. Really poor. These teams are good enough and are closely enough matched to have produced a fascinating Test without the intervention of an explosive pitch. Bizarrely may work in our favour, but time will tell.
yea possible. I heard two sounds, but then again i'm watching on a screen with stumpmic and not out there live in person.I think the standing umpire just missed the edge live entirely. I did.
