I guess Rahane can contribute more as an opener, especially on Asian pitches. He hasn't done well when the ball is turning and he has to face the spinners right when he is in, having the cushion of getting settled before facing spin might help him. He looks more in control against pacers.Rahane sucks as a batsman
Kohli sucks as a captain
Ashwin probably? He is street smart as a cricketer, and his test spot is more or less never in question. We can even try Pujara, can't be worse than Kohli for sure, we just need to get the basics right with the resources we have.I wouldn't even select Rahane as a batsmen when playing in India, so there's no one else to take over the captaincy
One issue I have with Kohli is that he seems incapable of putting himself in shoes of other players. Keeps talking about intent, body language and **** because that's how he motivates himself. Being aggressive and in-your-face brings the best out of him but that's not how most players are wired. He thinks if only players tried harder, had more passion they would be champions. That's not how it works.I haven't really seen a good argument for removing Kohli tbh. It tends to not be about any decisions in particular and just guesswork about what he might be like behind the scenes. It's tempting to point to results in Australia and NZ and say ain't no smoke without fire but I think until you can cite at least something on-field, or players start to openly discuss the backroom situation, it's confusing correlation for causation.
On the other hand, I feel there is a direct correlation with our pace attack getting better and him taking over captaincy. Its hard to say anything, I suppose he can relax a bit more on the field or maybe leave Rahane to interact with the bowlers etc. There are many ways we can have the best of both worlds here, really. One issue I have with Kohli is that he seems incapable of putting himself in shoes of other players. This is based off his off field comments obviously, we don't know how he handles team in the dressing room.

Surely, the world we reside in could use more of it, but for the sake of this article, let us pivot on the impact of emotional quotient in sport in general, cricket in particular. In the lexicon of...
