New/fairly unknown player you are rooting for!

Noumenon

U19 Vice-Captain
I will nominate three. All of them from Bihar.

1. Rahul Kumar - https://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/player/1246471.html

17 year old from Bihar. Tall, pacy, and extracts steep bounce on dead pitches. Think of Ishant at his debut although the action is closer to Broad. I'd be disappointed if he doesn't feature for India at the next U19 WC in windies.

2. Anuj Raj - https://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/player/1246472.html

20 year old left arm quick. Strong action, pacy, and swings it.

3. Suraj Kashyap - https://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/player/1246474.html

Only 17 year old and tied down some accomplished player of spin in his T20 debut against Rajasthan. Will be seen a lot in IPL but I'd love to see how he goes in FC cricket.

Pretty obvious with my avatar and username, but I think Shaheen Shah Afridi will end up being our best fast bowler after Wasim Akram.

Whatever it takes!!!
Since some people are hopping on bandwagons that I was on like 4 years ago, I guess I will have to say that I expect good things from Arshdeep Singh. A good left armer will add so much to our side, I hope he can contribute with the bat, as he already seems to be a decently good fielder.

International Vice-Captain
Too many to name, definitely can't pick just one. I'll go with three, Ben Sears, Finn Allen and Rachin Ravindra. They're not so unknown really. If it has to be a bit less unknown then Nathan Smith.

Still think Riyan Parag and Sarfraz Khan have something about them too. Not sure if they can work hard enough but if they do, I think they should play internationals for India.

Of course, I also think SKY (Surya Kumar Yadav) and Nitish Rana deserve a go in LO cricket at the #6 slot at some point.

SKY is unlucky, has the temperament to perform at the highest level. Riyan and Sarfaraz are really talented, but can they take their game to the next level and compete with the guys who are at the top? Most probably no, I wish to see one of them make it to the Indian team, but seems unlikely.

Dendarii

International Debutant
Sinethemba Qeshile. He's struggled to match match his debut first class season where he was reeling off 50 after 50 and he's yet to post a century (he does seem to have a habit of running out of partners), but the sooner we can get Bavuma out of the test side the better.

I’m rooting for Shabika Gajnabi. She is an extremely talented cricketer from my village. She’s played a few international games for West Indies in the recent past.
Can relate. Had a female cricketer represent India from my village. Kavita Roy. Played just the one ODI against Lanka. Was the only girl practicing amongst us boys way back in 1995-96.

Not sure if they count in the spirit of the thread but:

- Abid Ali
- Gill
- Pope

I mean I root for all the young guys in our side, but I especially want Abid to do well.

I dunno about Nathan Smith - sorta feels like a Sam Curran-lite to me.

Hope I'm wrong but I'm not sure what discipline he's going to become international class - whether that's a LO player (I'd presume) as what, a 4th seamer and finisher? Is he good enough to bat 7 for NZ? Not close at the mo.

Sam Curran. Love his competitive nature.

Fawad Alam will be piling on runs. Will make his lost decade count.
