The normal awards that everyone else has
Far less disgraceful than some of the match fixing that's gone on in the subcontinent

One of the great tactical pieces of captaincy, and well within the laws of the game. Quality.

Got half right.

Having said that, I'm sick of it being brought up every anniversary. It happened. Chappell might wish it didn't. Blah blah Bruce Edgar, blah Rod Marsh not happy etc etc. Been there, done that.

As President Nixon said, "if you use sandpaper on the ball, you can't have a problem with the fellow who uses vaseline."
I believe the order of things were the other way around so perhaps England can shut it. Also love how the butthurt continues for NZ.

I think in response to the ongoing angst regarding this historic incident in some NZ circles, Australia will regurgitate Richard Loe's 1992 face smear on Paul Carozza every year from now on.

Ranking the gates,

1. Match fixing
2. Spot fixing
3. Ball biting
4. Sandpaper gate
5. Under-arm gate

and then we have DRS gate, Monkeygate, homework gate etc etc.

So yeah, that's not the most disgraceful.

Probably put Sandpaper above ball biting, tbh. Otherwise, decent. And what about Bodyline? Weren't there actual calls for war to be declared against England because of it?

Bodyline was, at the time, a legitimate tactic as was 'Under-arm gate'. Both resulted in rule changes but neither was cheating - just outside the spirit of the game.
