Well the day started well to get rid of the first four wickets then turned to absolute pants, albeit entertainingly.

Honestly, except for the 5th test 2013 Ashes oddity, as I recall, Clarke's declarations tended to be aggressive in the first innings more than than when he was setting a target

The Adelaide Test against India where India looked like mowing down the target at one stage was a very spicy declaration

Only twice iirc and both times were about getting those famed tricky few overs before stumps in iirc

Yeah I think there was one in the West Indies.

He also decleared on 9/240 or something in India to get a few late overs in in the hope fore a wicket.

Lol they were talking about that test in the extended Lyon interview. What a travesty it would have been if that target was chased down. They lost 11 wickets in the match.

Declared overnight didn't he? Don't recall that being spicy at all tbh

Clarke once declared in the first innings of a match at about 235/9. They got slaughtered by a huge margin in that match.

Think it was the 2nd Test of that 2013 series in India.

Think Clarke was possibly best captain I've seen. Fleming was excellent as well. Vaughan was good, by far best English captain I've seen.

As good as Cummins has been this series, reckon Hazlewood has the edge as being Oz's best bowler this series.

Cummins the perfect first-change bowler but as he showed today, his style isn't that adept at taking the new ball.

This test has been similar to Dharmsala till now.
Who knows Shardul Thakur may do an Agarkar.?
