He lives in Melbourne. Wrote about it too: India cricket star Shikhar Dhawan on life in Melbourne, Diwali, Christmas, IPL and playing Australia (athletesvoice.com.au)He is actually in Aus? Would be brilliant.
Yeah I know he married an Aus citizen. God knows why he isn't in the squad already given the injury to KL a while back.He lives in Melbourne.
Umesh Yadav is out isn't he?So if we assume the worst for all of the injuries (i.e. if Bumrah, Mayank, Ashwin are confirmed out), we're looking at something like this?
1. Rohit
2. Gill
3. Pujara
4. Rahane
5. Pant
6. Shaw
7. Saha / Sundar
8. Thakur / Natarajan
9. Yadav
10. Saini
11. Siraj
That would make one hell of a scorecard to look back on in 15 years time.
Honestly, I've been wondering this too. Seems a really obvious expedient to me.Yeah I know he married an Aus citizen. God knows why he isn't in the squad already given the injury to KL a while back.
He means Kuldeep.Umesh Yadav is out isn't he?
The SMAT is going on in India. He maybe playing there for Delhi. Will have to check.Honestly, I've been wondering this too. Seems a really obvious expedient to me.
Hmmm, that piece indicates that he usually spends the Christmas period in Australia though, and it's obviously... not exactly easy to get in and out of the country as a private citizen right now.The SMAT is going on in India. He maybe playing there for Delhi. Will have to check.
Played in the India domestic t20 event Yesterday so not a runner.Yeah I know he married an Aus citizen. God knows why he isn't in the squad already given the injury to KL a while back.
Ahh okay. A little surprised he decided to tbh, getting back into Australia if you're a private citizen/permanent resident is a ****ing nightmare right now.Played in the India domestic t20 event Yesterday so not a runner.
This reminds me of when Waqar Yonis was living in Bella Vista and a few of the boys from the local club went around to his joint to see if he'd roll the arm over one Saturday when they were short. He lives in Melbourne. Wrote about it too: India cricket star Shikhar Dhawan on life in Melbourne, Diwali, Christmas, IPL and playing Australia (athletesvoice.com.au)
You guys are lucky we're not as morally bankrupt as England when it comes to selections, or he'd belong to us now.Yeah I know he married an Aus citizen. God knows why he isn't in the squad already given the injury to KL a while back.
why would he settle for socialist ca union contracts when he can get capitalist ipl contracts based on his rugged individualismYou guys are lucky we're not as morally bankrupt as England when it comes to selections, or he'd belong to us now.
Never rated his judgment tbhDont know the exact arrangements but it is possible he asked his wife and kids to relocate to India for a few months.
Why would Dhawan take a paycut to play for Australia? You guys are lucky we're not as morally bankrupt as England when it comes to selections, or he'd belong to us now.
Well, its obviously a stretch but a lot of my colleagues are Indians who are now US citizens and a number of them have relocated to India during/just before the pandemic. The idea is to stay put with family till this blows over. Dunno if Dhawan and family did that but it won't surprise me if they did.Yeah I don't know about that tbh. Amongst other things, that be pretty disruptive for the kids if they have to spend six months in what is, to them, a foreign country. It's not like his family wouldn't be used to him spending long stretches of time away from home.
