Who’s the worst OS player in this years tourney so far? I just love the consistent mediocrity of Phil Salt, personally. Just a nothing player.

for some reason that’s more appealing to me than the abject awfulness of a Jake Ball. I’m not sure why, I suspect there’s a PhD in that for someone to work out

I think it’s just because salt is easier to dislike.

Keemo Paul the worst of the lot as far as OS are concerned, him getting carted for 10 an over every game then bowling 2 beamers in a row and rage quitting the game on his own accord was the definite highlight of the season.

Re salt. Bit of a lair. Seems to get mic’d up a lot for such an ordinary player. I think the tv guys reckon he has some Freddy flintoff appeal but he doesn’t. No game and no act but must be quite a marketer to keep getting gigs.

What about this season though, even if Paul is the ATWorst?

Another thing is I’m not hating Sunny’s commentating. Quite liking it actually. Has a great sounding voice and seems even a little urbane and it’s not forced at all. Signs of humour too and hasn’t betrayed any parochialism while comming the tests. Seems very relaxed, charming and enjoying himself.

A combined worst overseas player team of all time, the hurricanes picked most of them.
Phil Salt
Kumar Sangakkara WK
Owais Shah
David Miller
Anton Devcich
Thisara Perera
Keemo Paul.
Richard Gleeson
Qais Ahmed
Tymal Mills
Saeed Ajmal

Sangakkara hardly made a run for us.

Keemo should never have been picked up as an overseas player, the recruitment team are definitely at fault. He is an excellent young swing bowler who has lost confidence and needs some time in FC cricket. a 5 minute watch of his recent International cricket would have told them where he is at right now.

A lot of that AT bad XI could go in the guys thread. Hobart certainly have managed an outsize proportion. I don't remember Quais Ahmed being that bad (and his figures are middling) but his love of bowling bouncers which, as a leg spinner, would inevitably beat the keeper was certainly one of the more unusual idiosyncrasies.

The funny thing about Thisara was that I remembered him being decent enough with bat and ball in a couple of tri series down here (I miss those, though they were always too long). Then later on he tended to be more expensive in ODIs. When he was in the BBL the main thing he did was systematically explore where he could bowl to ensure the batsman could get him to the boundary. It was a flat pitch, with the small Docklands boundaries, but it's hard to think of worse bowling than his in the Ben McDermott match (though Pattinson was somehow even more expensive).

Yeah he was ****ing terrible wasn’t he? Bowled very fast from memory but that’s about it
He wasn't even fast all the time, more like every other ball. No accuracy at all.

Phil Salt isnt as bad as you guys are saying. I'd say he's probably reached fifty in about a third of his BBL starts. And looked awesome in a couple of knocks last season
