Given that we don't have another scheduled test until October, there's not a lot they can do. I think that they'll lose it barring a 2-2 result in the Aus-India series (a result we definitely don't want given that it would significanty reduce their already modest chances of making the WTC final).so what do nz need to do (apart from win tests obv) to keep this ranking? we must be within touching distance of other sides.
Aus 2-1 vs India give Aus #1 while India need 3-1 to take #1 (both give NZ #2)so what do nz need to do (apart from win tests obv) to keep this ranking? we must be within touching distance of other sides.
Because you lot are criminals. First fleet and then sandpaper. Probably some other stuff in the middle too.How does NZ overtake Aus as #1 when they've only won 1 Test vs Aus in last 25 years
(NZ 1-21 Aus in last 25 years)
This gets said every year and then they play Australia and get whooped. I love the Kiwi posters on here but they can be the most delusional ****s sometimes when things are going well for them. Also can be the most depressed ****s when things don't.This NZ side could definitely take out Australia now imo. Get Conway in for Taylor later this year and it's on
You might want to start with a win vs Aussies in NZ first. Been a long time. It'd be nice to add two best impossible results while we're at it. Win vs India in India and Aussies in Australia. Two of the toughest tours and when they have the bowling attack like they do now beating them in their own back yard should be at the top of the wish list.
Winning in the UAE was key and Australia losing to India at home. When did Australia last win an away series? Even the Poms won in Sri Lanka and South Africa which was pretty impressive. How does NZ overtake Aus as #1 when they've only won 1 Test vs Aus in last 25 years

I think we stand a chance with the ball right now at home but not so sure if our batting can withstand the Aussie bowling. It'll be a close encounter. Still not sure if we're equipped well enough to win in Aussie yet. Same personnel like we had last time barring one player so not yet hopefull. Wishful yes..You might want to start with a win vs Aussies in NZ first. Been a long time.

Because they've only toured there once?tbf since that win in Hobart Australia have only won two test matches in New Zealand.
