On the back of yesterday, this will be taken as a whinge by many people in Australia, but skipping Brisbane is by far the easiest choice for all parties and has been the case ever since the outbreak in Sydney.
Brisbane should be skipped permanently IMO as they never turn up to watch anyway. Though at least the Gabba pitches haven't been quite as terrible as the Sydney ones recently (though that's not saying much).

Nah I’m privy to the fact that when protocols are put in place to allow you to earn your substantial living and to travel around the world when no one else can, you don’t treat those rules as a joke which don’t apply to you. It’s ****ing appalling, but pretty much what you expect from pro sportspeople
Yeah, when everyday people in Australia have had to put up with varying degrees of restrictions since March, many of whom have lost their jobs and are earning **** all whilst doing so, the fact that some blokes who are earning a ****load whilst playing a sport and who have been asked to hang out with other guys in their team whilst they follow the rules can't even meet a simple directive to eat outside instead of inside is a big **** you to people who have made a sacrifice for the last 9 months. You're getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not millions, to do what you do. Just follow the protocols you obnoxious *****. If it's too hard, opt out of the tour or do something else for a living.

Absolute epitome of selfish entitled ****heads, as is their stance on not wanting to comply with what Qld wants them to do while they’re there.

Completely ungrateful asshats if true.

Nah, just have India forfeit the 4th Test. They want to be treated the same as Australians then they would need to quarantine in their room for 14 days in Qld. That was the whole point of the bubble protocols so they could enter Qld from Sydney wheras Australian residents can't.

CA should ban all of the five breachers for 3rd Test and let BCCI forfeit that Test as well.

Speaking purely about the Brisbane thing (and not about yesterday's drama) - the cricketers as the people involved conveyed a preference to not go to QLD and be in hard lockdown if possible if there was an easier alternative of playing in Sydney, as people who have been in hard hotel room quarantine for months cumulatively and not having seen their families from before the IPL.

All they said was "We aren't keen on going to Brisbane if it means being stuck in the hotel again, except for going to the ground. Instead we don't mind being in some other city, playing both Test matches there to complete the series and returning home," which sounds incredibly mild and normal to me considering the circumstances. They're hardly throwing a tantrum there.

Regardless of how it goes, they have the right to have an opinion as the people actually affected and gave their thoughts. They are not in the army. They are human beings whose job happens to be playing a sport. Calm the **** down.

No mate, they’re conveying a preference not to play at the Gabba. Only the new monied trash of world sport would imagine their own preference would take precedence over the bio security protocols of the places they’re touring. What a pack of ****ing arseholes.

I don’t think any of that is practical. We know just how boorish is Indian nationalism. Their press is already gingering public sentiment to believe their players have a right to behave as they like and cultivate a regal contempt for their hosts. Also has the potential to escalate politically and we don’t need another fight on top of China. A way will have to be found to get them in Sydney with an ability to choose anyone from their squad.

Yes, because going to Queensland would be hard quarantine. If it happens, it happens but they don't have to pretend to like it ffs.

No one is asking that they enjoy it. In fact after this I think it's imperative that they immensely dislike it.

If it’s that much of an issue then they should realistically **** off home. They agreed to the itinerary and Qld has had the toughest quarantine here since it all kicked off, along with WA. They’ve made no complaint about it until their blokes ****ed up, and now they’re carrying on like spoilt toddlers. They can get in the bin.

Their position is that their blokes ****ed up in Melbourne, got caught and because of that they have the shits and are threatening not to go to Brisbane, after everyone has busted their arses to keep the Sydney test going first.

Honestly, let them **** off home. The joint has bent over backwards to accommodate this tour, they’re getting paid big bucks when so many other people are out of work, they’re given exemptions to travel when so few others are and they can’t even abide by simple rules without wanting to **** up the itinerary? Let them go home.
