3rd Test at the SCG, Sydney, 7 Jan - 11 Jan 2021

And of course it is dumb for the players to have gone out but once again, the key here is what was explicitly stated in the protocols. If you give players who have been holed up in hotel rooms since September a chance to go out, they are most likely gonna take it.
What does a player bubble mean? Just duck out for a feed whenever you want?

I genuinely cannot comprehend how these guys could be that dumb

This is the closest we’ve ever been to beating a full strength Australia at home and they pull this ****. Shaw’s been dropped, Rohit and Shaw are hardly secure of their spots in the side, Gill is 1 Test old, Saini’s gone from the next big thing to like 9th in the pecking order and this is what they come up with.

Seriously, get in the ****ing bin. Morons.
2018 was full strength. they played the best xi available. maoning of smith and warner's absence is like moaning about mcgrath's or ponting's. the ban was handed out by ca.

what an absolute humiliation. after two days of whining about a flat mcg pitch, the best bowler of this generation bowled them out for 150..

Whatever it takes!!!
lol at forfeit. if the bcci wants they can finish off cricket australia with a snap of their fingers and have cummins and smith be sydney saturday league cricketers.

india owns cricket. better not forget it.
Mate, you are not helping. And none of that is true. Come on.

So much for the overfriendly vibes. No way of condoning this. Drop whoever's involved (or have CA grow a pair and make them sit out) and pay for your stupidity with a loss in the 3rd Test. Though realistically, it's just Pant and Gill that matter here. Saha's a decent replacement while KL can open for Gill.

Guess I had not actually stated this even though I have had this opinion since the story broke. If it is an actual breach of protocol, then the 5 should just be dropped and asked to isoloate and join for the 4th test. You really cannot play with the security of the other team members, the opponents, the umpires, the broadcasters and everyone else involved. It really is stupid if it was written that they cannot dine in indoors.

So, if those 5 are indeed out, we are talking?

Rahul
Mayank
Pujara (vc)
Rahane (c)
Vihari
Jadeja
Saha (wk)
Ashwin
Siraj
Bumrah
Natarajan

If we can eke in Pant somehow, that wont be the worst XI we can play lol.

I miss the days when players could just call other players a **** and that would be the end of it.

Clamping down on on-field conduct has meant the only way players can have a 'go' at each other is via backroom politics, social media, and endless reports and fines and appeals and whiny press conferences. This is infinitely less fun to follow as a fan.

If two players have beef, stick them in a 1 vs 1 Ultimate Kricket Challenge, match, turn up the stump pics and sell it on PPV. Let's go full WWE/UFC.

But a senior member of the BCCI has reportedly rubbished the reports while Indian journalist Boria Majumdar said “there is no investigation for a breach confirms @BCCI and never was such a thing even under consideration”.
“No, there has been no breach in bio-security protocols. Everyone associated with the Indian team is well aware of the protocols,’ the official told the Press Trust of India on conditions of anonymity.
“We can only term it as a malicious spin by a section of Australian media and this has started after their humiliating defeat.
The Australian media at times acts as an extension of their cricket team.”

Yeah, for real.

Saha is absolute garbage, is it possible to ask Rahul to open and keep ?

Could get Vihari to open and Rahul bat at 5?

Saha can go and prepare for the next Indian test series v Sri Lanka so everyone is a winner.
