You know what would be a great innovation for Big Bash? After the umpire makes a decision, go with the opposite result

I'm patenting it now "Reverse Umpiring"

I was at that game, hence why I take a mild interest in him. A baffling selection then that only looks more baffling over time. A very early career Lockie Ferguson victim iirc
the real zenith of "we actually have no idea what we're doing in odis atm and don't care to work it out" australian mid-cycle odi selections

Also, I remember Marcus Stoinis had a career List A strike rate of like 70 coming into that series and I couldn’t understand his selection, but he basically earned a life-long reputation as an ODI dasher based on his innings in that same game

arguably the most deletrious hundred scored in australian cricket in the last five years, given his output since

ok so tbf he averages 54 in List A...so why has he only played 19 games in 5 years?
He hadn't actually played for Queensland in List A cricket when he debuted for Australia. He was picked off a mix of "National Performance Squad" games against India A and South Africa A, and I think BBL form.

It's also easy to miss huge chunks of the Australian List A season given they cram it all into a couple of weeks, and they only play 5-7 games per team now.

Moreover, this season's List A comp hasn't started yet.

So for Queensland he's only played two and half seasons, all after that debut.

So really, based on what he’s done in the relevant format since his ODI debut, you could argue it was an inspired selection
