Give a minimum of 10 posts and then we get no spam at all.

'what are you thinking right now?' was a solid effort for a bot

Really? I prefer quality to quantity and some members with over 25k posts contribute very little in the way of rational discussion and debate.

Make the rule that you cannot open a thread until you have posted in the 'introduce yourself' thread in OT (or smth similar)

If a bot is smart enough to figure it's way around that then fair play to it.

It’s a bit surprising that the same bot was posting the same junk for that length of time and not a single mod was online to curtail it. That’s not a criticism, it just seems odd.

It seemed to happen between me refreshing CW a couple of times at work, really unfortunate timing.

Interesting idea from Mags, I actually didn't realize that the accounts in the mod queue were allowed to post. Works very different than vB then.

sometimes people come here with one question, especially in the coaching subforum i seem to have noticed. why gatekeep and not let them in?

The idea is to figure out the bots, Shady. Its a thankless job for the mods as it is and having to delete about 10 or 12 threads must be annoying.
