Ah ****. That’s shithousefor him and the Sixers in the BBL.

nice to see McDermott ton up. Kid is very easy to watch but pisses it away ad infinitum.

I would just select Joe Burns. Woefully out of form, yes, but if you back his character and talent you have to give him a chance to show that he can learn from these failures and bounce back stronger. You've named him in the squad already, may as well follow through. If he fails in the 1st Test, drop him for Warner. Personally I think that is better than bringing in someone from outside the squad, or batting someone out of position.

I'd probably agree with this if it was anyone other than Burns tbh.

Members tix secured for days two and four in the ballot. Will be nice to be there to celebrate on the last day of a 4-0 series win for the home side.

Every sentence in this is correct and I fully support picking Burns. I think Finch was hard done by and should open as well.

Yes, and SMarsh and Khawaja opening would be harkening back to the past and should be avoided at all costs.

Word on the street is that Wade may open.

Burns had an intensive one-on-one session in the nets yesterday with Justin Langer.

Can't wait to see Green debut

Just play him as a batsman with a maximum of six overs per innings until he turns 25

Green's back injuries won't just disappear at 25 (did Pattinson's?) It's a fundamental flaw in his action. Seems to be slight improvement after his come back, but we can only wait and see. I wouldn't be surprised if he needs to get his shoulders significantly more side on.

The real downside for India with Smith's back is if it's sore he'll have to play straighter and more within himself. That'll be fun for their bowlers.

Word in the papers is that they're happy it's a back injury because this dovetails nicely with their plan to pepper the great man with short balls.

Whatever it takes!!!
After the spate of injuries, I think either team will be stupid not to pepper the other with short balls. Of course, it cannot be overdone and they have to be smart about it but I expect plenty of bouncers from either side and batsmen are not going to find this fun, especially under lights.

So we are basically looking at:

Wade
Burns
Labu
Smith
Head
Green
Paine * +
Starc
Cummins
Lyon
Hazlewood

Vs

Mayank
Gill
Pujara
Virat *
Rahane
Vihari
Pant +
Ashwin
Umesh
Shami
Bumrah

Could be a very good match up especially if the Indian bowlers turn up at their best. Mouth watering contest between two really good bowling sides.

Australia will win this inside four days. Md Shami the danger for India.

Wouldn't surprise me if Harris opens and Wade misses, which would be pretty unfair on him.

Also, is Jadeja confirmed out?
