Nah he usually bats defensively and tries to build partnerships with the set bats. Obviously a bit of a different situation today.

He's definitely better than his Test average, he batted seven for Otago a few times (nosebleed territory as I thought that was at the time). Seems to be really enjoying the opportunity to play expansively today.
This more attacking style is something we've seen from Wagner more often than not in the last two years. Just a lot of declaration batting mainly, and maybe the the occasional lost cause.

Haha whichever commentator - before he'd even got off the mark - said that Wagner always gets teased about not having a Test 50 and that today might be the day in his 50th Test would be feeling pretty smug now as he sits on 45*.

Not Terrible
So Wagner practices in front of a bowling machine that only ever bowls bouncers right? And this gives him ***ual powers?

For those who watched it and are watching this, how does this compare to Broad's 62? Looks like it might be even better, if that's possible.

Missed this morning's play but hyped for Wagner 50.

Any more chances in Nicholls' runs this morning?

Edit: Had seen mention of another dropped catch this morning, but now I've seen the highlights there were three?! Shocker.
