Root hasn't really contributed in white ball cricket for a long time. His 30 ball 7 in the World Cup Final is almost legendary and there's been little since aside from a half innings in South Africa.

I mean that's because he's only played three (3) ODIs since the WC. His form prior to the final had been excellent and in line with his overall world-class status as a LO player.

I know it’s because he’s hasn’t played. Without checking first I had a feeling he’d sat out more than he actually has. He certainly should be in the 50 over side, but not necessarily T20.

in a draft i'd only take kohli and sharma over root. he is an absolute g in this format.

his record is under the radar bonkers.

Yeah it really is.

I think I'd take Buttler over him though since he can keep too. Azam thereabouts as well. Warner too but gun openers are easy to find these days.

He's absurdly consistent. It's pretty hard to imagine an England batting lineup that has been anywhere near as dominant as it's been since 2016 without him.

Derinitely like to see Philippe given some game time coming up, Riley Meredith too. Much rather have a look at those guys who could be a fixture going forward in a series like this as opposed to something more prestigious later down the line.
Warne was pushing Meredith's cart pretty hard during his comm stints in our series v Pakistan. To such an extent I assumed he was a Vic and was genuinely surprised when I took a gander at cricinfo and found out he was a Tasmanian.

He reckons the boy has real wheels, so hope he gets a run.

Happy that Carey is back in form, he was a massive part of our world cup campaign, and he's been pretty disappointing since then.

Feeling that Agar will play before Marsh, while Wade and Richardson should hold off Stoinis and Meredith for at least the first match

Has Warne forgotten that Stoinis has been absolute trash across every format for at least two years?

Stoinis has had a couple of decent warm up matches hasn't he?

And anyway, it's not like Stoinis is the most controversial of Warne's picks.

If Sams plays he must be the first Australian cricketer to make his FC debut in NZ for a while?

There's Clarrie Grimmett, obvz, but dunno of any more?
