Well, for starters, they want a final every 2 years. And you cannot expect any team to play 9 test series in 2 years, can you? With all the T20 leagues around and the fact that ICC wants a seperate world event every year apart from this. Its a contest of greed.

It isn't a league, really. Each team plays 6 designated WTC series, 3 home, 3 away. They are all of variable lengths. Each series is worth 120 points, so the individual value of a Test depends upon the length of a series.

Admittedly I stopped paying too close attention to the whole thing and scrutinising it closely when I found out about the way points are allocated, which I think is totally nonsensical.

Yeah, a lot depends on whether they can keep going the same way after the break. And of course, how Naseem goes when he bowls. He is still the most dangerous bowler on this track for them.

These two need to take it to 225+ IMO, can just about hope for Broad and Bess to troll 50 more.

A quick Broad 30 could be really dangerous in this situation. Granted you wouldn't back him to last long against Yasir out of the rough but he might not need to.

Buttler and Woakes could both get a quick fifty and really punish Pakistan here. The bowling just looks a bit wary. I think after tea should be Shah and Shadab bowling in tandem and Butter and Woakes hitting it around.
