This pitch is way more unplayable than anything we have seen in England for a while IMO and it is still day 4.

Think my theory about the roller having calmed the pitch down for the first 20 odd overs has some merit. It seems to have returned to the state it was in when Pakistan had them 10-3 or whatever it was when they looked like taking 2 wickets every over, within even more unpredictable bounce.

Okay, so the last 10 overs have garnered 4 wickets for Pakistan. An interesting period of play it is. One can just sense the pitch has started to act up.

It never looked easy out there even when Sibley and root were batting. This was always on the cards once they went. Doubtless the side will be slaughtered for this innings, but the game was really won and lost in Pakistan's first dig.

I will say it forever, the future lies in India going with 5 bowlers and Jaddu/Pant/Ash at 6-8 handle the extra batsman responsibilities. And any pitch where bowling at the same area over and over is Jaddu's kind of pitch though.

One thing to note here is it often seems to impede the player when an allrounder has to play as a specialist bat. It just seems to put their batting style under too much pressure.

Mostly that. But also our approach after lunch on Day 1 and even more so on Day 2. And we didn't make best use of the first new ball at the start of the match. But that's the game isn't it. Pakistan have done all of these things better than we did and fully deserve this success.
