I think the decision to bowl Wood does make some sense. Reverse swing is unquestionably their best shot and they clearly feel Wood is their best proponent of it.

True but it's too late for control, wickets are the only thing that matter now. Targets of <= 200 just don't give you that luxury of control, any counterattack at all and any control you had just vanishes. Just gotta get them out first.

For all their pace bowling variety, only Anderson gives control. Broad, Archer, Stokes and Wood are all varying degrees of all or nothing.
