I know a couple of wickets could change everything, but so far an excellent WI performance has completely outplayed us.

This may have been said before but English weather sucks more balls than a vacuum in a sport museum

Whatever it takes!!!
The issue is that this partnership is their best bet for getting a good score on the board. Let's see how it pans out tomorrow. I wanna see Windies make 300 and Hope make a 100.

I think Dowrich and Holder are the only 2 West Indies bats to be averaging in the 40s since 2018.

Tomorrow will be interesting and nerve-racking as hell.

Yeah, the little keeper has tons of fight. Almost guaranteed he'll get together with Holder at some stage of this series for a crucial partnership.

Really good day for WI, led by the bowling attack, Holder exceptional, Gabriel bowled briskly and threateningly and Roach was very unlucky to end the innings with a 0-for. They’ll certainly take 50odd-1 at the close. England desperately need to come back better tomorrow and set the day up with a few early wickets.

I don't think any of these decisions except maybe the Burns decision was terrible -- although you would expect the Archer one to be given most times -- but it is weird.
Agreed.
I've always felt that 10, rather than 2 reviews, would suit the Test game better anyway. For the simple reason that taking the right decision is not an easy job to do. I think todays wrong decisions were tough ones to make. Even the Burns one. It's not like it would hit the middle stump! I do a lot of (extremely low level) umpiring myself. The thought of a fast bowler angling the ball in, from around the wicket.... That is just a hard thing to judge.

solid to wake up to from the windies

england have been getting the rub of the green from the umpires recently. they're due an absolute saw-off or ten.

WI batting looks really handy on paper for this kind of a low-scoring match. Really feel good about the chances of a handy lead from here. Yes, Brooks is meh and Blackwood is unreliable and Chase is dodgy in England and Hope is woefully out-of-form but I guess some of them can stick. Brathwaite is useful, and Holder and Dowrich have a lot of fight in them. Need 350+ to be in the driving seat.

Pleasantly surprised to see the Windies only 1 down

Rather than hoping for some big hundreds, the Windies will be fine if they can just avoid any huge collapses

Looked like there is a bit in three pitch. Still, Holder delivered on how good he looked yesterday. Gabriel's bowleds were the ***iest moments of the day, though that cover drive from Pope was sublime.
