Won away in Madrid a week ago ??? Won a cup final at Wembley a week ago ???That’s a great win. Might just be that it wasn’t an important game for them but City don’t seem to be in a good place right now.
Jesus AtleticoWho?
If that's true it's pretty dire. If you did it at an amateur league side you'd need to find a new club very quickly.Bloke hasn't looked himself since he's come back from injury, so this is probably unsurprising really.
Not sure what is going on with Maitland-Niles though. Sounds as if his days are numbered after refusing to play as a fullback. Shame, was looking good.
Yeah it sounds like that is what has happened tbh. Bloke wasn't even in the squad at the weekend, and Sokratis started at right back lol, so looks like writing is on the wall for AMN.If that's true it's pretty dire. If you did it at an amateur league side you'd need to find a new club very quickly.
If Arteta is half as disciplinarian as reports suggest he'll have put him in quarantine.
Just remembered a month or so back you were fairly pessimistic and I was saying you should still be too good for Madrid, so this is a bit of a switch.Won away in Madrid a week ago ??? Won a cup final at Wembley a week ago ???
In previous years we definitely would've lost that game going down a goal away against a big side. League means nothing anymore, no surprise there's no impetus.
I still am pretty pessimistic about the Madrid tie but saying we've been bad lately after winning all of our important games is a pretty weird stance to take IMO.Just remembered a month or so back you were fairly pessimistic and I was saying you should still be too good for Madrid, so this is a bit of a switch.
Who do you have ahead of Gnabry, out of interest?Yeah he'll be gone in the summer. Arsenal youth prospects have had an incredible habit of surpassing expectations after leaving the club in recent years (Gnabry actually isn't even top of the list IMO since he was very highly thought of) but it seems like he's committed career suicide. He had a good chance of nailing down the RB spot for a top half PL club and instead demanded to play in a much harder and more competitive area of the pitch that he's had about two good first XI games in. Think he'd have to take a serious step down if he wants to go somewhere that'll give him a chance in midfield.
Maybe not, but we're complete shite. Even when we've beaten City before it's been by playing as underdogs and you don't need to watch the game for long to know they're a much better team. That wasn't the case on Sunday.I still am pretty pessimistic about the Madrid tie but saying we've been bad lately after winning all of our important games is a pretty weird stance to take IMO.
Even in the United game if Ederson has a normal game do you even score?
Szczesny?Who do you have ahead of Gnabry, out of interest?
Jeff Reine-Adélaïde and Ismael Bennacer went to Lyon and Milan for a combined €40m last summer having been let go for basically nothing by Arsenal. Gnabry has performed better than my expectations for him four seasons in a row, but if you'd told me when he first broke into the Arsenal first team that he'd be great one day I wouldn't have been surprised, whereas neither of these two ever even made a Premier League appearance for us. Would probably have Bennacer as most surprising because Jeff did actually get some Emirates cup hype. Bennacer never did and was named AFCON player of the tournament last summer.Who do you have ahead of Gnabry, out of interest?
An Arsenal fan I know who watches a lot of you guys is always hyping him.Josh Dasilva obviously.
homegrown player rules leading to bloated academies vacuuming up all the talent etc etcAn Arsenal fan I know who watches a lot of you guys is always hyping him.
Don't know if it's just that I'm more familiar with the names of the youth generation of 2015-18 than I was earlier ones but I feel like Arsenal never used to have this many ex academy players making really successful careers for themselves.
