 It just had to happen didn't it?

I can honestly say that Lime's England has had more than an outstanding tournament. It's good to see results like this happen, where we end up with a couple of sides who probably weren't the strongest two sides on paper contesting the final. Incredible effort from India to float under the radar the entire time, and then come alive in the finals series. I honestly feel that if this tournament were to be repeated we'd see something entirely different.

Great stuff srb!! Congratulations mate.

ICC Sim League Version 8 champions, India.

Thanks to everyone who joined in this time around. It's always cool to see some of the regulars, plus a few new players giving it a try! Hope y'all had a bit of fun with this waste of space :-)

Found myself unable to sleep last night & for whatever reason ended up mulling over a couple of potential new ideas for a possible new sim league in the future. Can't promise that I'll start this one straight away though, as I have an overseas trip coming up in the next few weeks, but would love to hear what you think of my latest brain-farts. I enjoyed the T20 comp we did last time around, so here are a couple of new ideas. Which of these would you prefer to see happen if I was to begin a new sim league down the track?

-

World Series T20

A premier league style T20 comp where players go up against one another with teams drafted from a pool of cricketers from the late 70's/early 80's.

Tier 2 World T20

In an alternate universe the West Indies have broken up, and so for some reason there will be a 12-team T20 tournament between the lower-ranked nations, featuring cricketers which debuted during the 1996 CWC, or later.
Teams featured: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Barbados, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Namibia, Netherlands, Scotland, Trinidad & Tobago, Zimbabwe

Interested to know what you're feeling!

Would be keen for both.

World series t20 has more cache, romance and the bonus of a draft

The world t20 also-rans might take more effort to find participants but if there was extra interest could be expanded with some of Windward/Leewards, UAE, PNG, Oman, Canada, HK too (they would prob be similar level to Namibia?). It could be set up so ppl could even have a team in each group prior to the knockout stage. Maybe Bangladesh 2010s or Zim 90s would be stronger than the rest so could have some extra constraints but you know the sim so would be better placed to make that assessment.
