This makes me sad. There's a part of me that thinks it's perfectly sensible, and a part of me that sees it as a deep-rooted working class sport being banned and replaced with an alternative that conforms to the highly risk-averse sensibilities of the middle classes. They're all going to die some day anyway, and almost all deaths are unbearably painful. If you want to protect them from long-term damage your only option is to ban childbirth.
