Not bowling anymore, played a bit of Super Smash for Auckland this season but iirc his numbers aren't flash. Milne hasn't played since the end of the 2019 County season due to an ankle injury.

Don't really see Anderson ever being a major player again. Milne possibly, but he's so injury-riddled that he'll more likely end up fading away over the next couple years.

Anderson, Neesham, CDG and Santner could have been a very good engine room of 5-8. I also just remembered Doug Bracewell shoring up his batting sometime back and proving to be an useful allrounder but missing now. But don't want to ask that question again :)

While I know it's harder for NZ than other nations to rope in specialist coaches, would really like someone to work with the team to improve decision making under pressure. Even assuming the best XI has not been selected for whatever reason and replacements will sharpen up the team, that's still a pretty capable T20 squad which has no business frittering away good positions like they did in those last 3 games. Mental side of things needs to be addressed for sure.

Crapinfo says "Bumrah, Thakur, Saini star as India complete 5-0 sweep". Thakur does have some good friends there doesn't he ?

Whatever it takes!!!
Playing for Mumbai can do that over there.. Or even Mumbai Indians. Juz listening to Ajit Agarkar as an "expert" is just such a sad and bad experience at the same time. Somehow he manages to be even more one-eyed, biased and delusional in his love for all Mumbai when it comes to cricket than the certified idiot of the Indian cricket scene, Sanju Manju.

I always enjoy how a "The problem is" conversation starts with someone that scored 50 not scoring fast enough, or Santa not smashing the runs himself. Yet no one mentions Bruce and Mitchell were up to sweet **** all for two games.
Bruce was run out for a duck in the second one.

Milne was the only express out of the current line who I saw swing the new ball (white ball) a bit and reverse the old one a lot...at times. Lockie could possibly swing it if given more chances to open the bowling but he probably won't get the chance in ODI's at least. Saw him swing it in the air/off the seam a bit when he opened in T20's. In his cameo against aus in the first test he did move the ball off the seam when hitting good line/length.

Would be seriously helpful if Sears could do it but from what I've heard so far, he can't.

Didn't catch a ball of the last two games and have just caught up. Some of the best highlights:

5th T20:

- Run out by Samson/KL Rahul - Really smart from Samson to throw it on the bounce
- That catch by Samson on the boundary to save the six. Seriously quality stuff
- Dube's potentially career ending 34 run over could've been much better if the fielder was on the boundary on the second ball. Same fielder then slipped and let the no-ball go for four . Seifert also very nearly paddled it onto his stumps. Such an entertaining over
- People talk about the Rahul cover drive six but Seifert's inside out hit off Chahal was better imo
- Thakur loves bowling length

4th T20:
- Kohli intercepting the throw and running Munro out. wtf.
- Saini is a good death bowler
- Thakur loves bowling length
- That 2 from Kohli in the superover. **** this guy thinks when he plays.

NZ in general scored so many runs with sweeps and legside mows throughout the series. Suppose that's always going to be the case if you have Taylor and Munro in your team. Seifert looks really good.

is saini viewed as a test prospect? i don't even try to keep up with all the t20 around so this is my first look. he looks good, another one on the production line of talented indian quicks.
NZ can you please let Jesse Ryder play again? thx
doesn't get a game provincially because he's more trouble than he's worth

That Munro run out in 4th game is what swung it in India s favor. It is an all time brilliant effort for it was a mix of everything. Athleticism and fitness (he amplified it 2x), and absolute game awareness... not a fluke by any means.

I would regard it as one of the best run outs I have ever seen. Pity it came in a jam t20

Saini is definitely a test prospect. Hope he doesn't get watered down by short versions.

Saini has good pace, and a decent yorker and a bouncer. Need to see whether he can bowl a stock wicket taking ball that moves consistently, and not offer width, which he has a tendency of doing.

Rohit is out of the NZ tour, ODIs and tests.

Don't mind that tbh.

Should allow Shaw to get back to the test side and maybe Shaw and Gill to open in the ODIs. They'll probably play KL as an opener again with Shaw but I can dream.

Will it be Shaw or KL in the tests? Shaw is the incumbent, but it's one of the most precarious incumbencies.

I would give Shaw a go over KL. KL has been doing great in shorter formats and wouldn't want his confidence to be shattered due to a failure here. Let him play only ODIs and T20s until WT20 and take it from there. After all, these are the only 2 tests until then.

I have a feeling Shaw would do well. Lets see.

Rohit needs to work on his fitness as he grows into his thirties. Guy has let go of himself over the years. I remember him being an agile type when he first appeared on the scene. Cuts a sorry figure today unfortunately.
