***Official*** India in New Zealand 2020

The 3 early wickets meant we were only one wicket away from inducing a bit of panic. Even after the Dube disaster over.
I guess the tail started really high for NZ with Santner at 7, and Mitchell inexperienced at 6, as well. Not much batting left at all after either Seifert or Taylor got out. If both went we were always doomed.

Only once has a team got 34 or more runs in an over before today. So there's not much data to look at.
Someone could filter for 25+ runs (which I assume must have happened at least ~10+ times) in an over from a target of <165 (not sure how much of that would have been batting second, but probably ~10+? Not sure if the target would necessarily be big enough) - would be just a shade over 15% of total runs coming in one over. Anyone?

The problem wasn't Taylor getting out, it was Taylor letting RRReq drift from 6.5 to 10.3 before he got out. I understand that he was trying not to lose his wicket to Bumrah, but if he had hit some boundaries between 10th and 18th overs then 7-8-9 would only have needed to push singles to win the game.

Still shocked after the last three games working out how we didn't close it. Looking back we have struggled against majority of the Indian players. Shami, Rahul, Bumrah, Thakur, Jadeja, Rohit Sharma, Saini have all troubled us. Where do we go from here? The same personnel are going to play one day cricket and likely test cricket as well.

We scored all of 36 runs last night between 11 and 19th over. That's 8 overs for 36 runs and staggering to think we scored nearly as much in a single over.

Besides I don't think India have played their absolute best cricket yet.

I know its different formats but hope NZ's complete lack of confidence here translates smoothly to some collapses in the tests next month.

I always enjoy how a "The problem is" conversation starts with someone that scored 50 not scoring fast enough, or Santa not smashing the runs himself. Yet no one mentions Bruce and Mitchell were up to sweet **** all for two games.

Guptill did at least come away from the series averaging 20. Poor showings but we know why they're there.

Santa Mitchell de Grandhomme Bruce together in 12 innings scored 33 runs at an average of 3.3

If you remove Santa from that its 14 runs from 7 innings at an average of 2.

CDG bowled 2 overs in the series. All 3 of CDG Bruce and Mitchell should be dropped.

yea we shouldn't be relying on santa to win games with the bat. he's a total spud with the stick, and while he's capable of bonus hundreds at random he's going to let you down every time you elevate him to a top 6 position of responsibility in any format.

wow. yea our 4-7 has been bad but i didn't realise just how much of all the work ross was doing in there.

t20 just isn't cdgs game. harsh on mitchell and bruce since they always get sporadic cracks but i don't think they're international t20 cricketers either.

i suppose munro gets credit for scoring the jammiest 50 ever at the cake tin. still looks half the player he was 2 years ago. i remember a t20 against pakistan on a niggly deck where he and kane were the only guys who could time the ball across both sides. lost talent.
