Scorecard will be straight in the pool room next to the one from his mighty effort in Canberra against a similarly fearsome attack.
Hey, Marnus fell foul of that attack and was made to look average. It was clearly of some repute.

And I thought we were underdogs before...this side looks like the cricket equivalent of the Baby Blacks. Best of luck fellas, you're gonna need it.

Oh well, hopefully this test will provide a small, temporary distraction from the fires for our Okker cuzzies.

Yeah I can't really work out Southee getting dropped. He was poor in Melbourne, but despite the general public whinging about pace he's been very good in test cricket. Reeks of a knee jerk, we-need-fresh-faces response rather than actual thoughtful selection.

sick isn't he?

i was interested to see him bowl here so i could come to more of a conclusion on new southee + flat pitches = yea or nah?

leaning towards nah unless it's a pink ball

Cricinfo says dropped and Latham didn't mention him as sick, nor have any reports said he wasn't training

I'd take a rusty and tired Tim Southee over a mint condition Matt Henry with a red ball any day.

that's weird. i'd drop him for someone who actually bowls into the pitch in aus but matt henry? nah, needs to do more than hammering away in the channel if he's going to succeed with the old ball in test cricket.

Oh look, threatening from ball 1 off completely the wrong length.

Settle in lads.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Pitch looks green. Anyway, can't see this going any way except Australia's. Probably at our lowest ebb since that disastrous tour of SA after the captaincy saga and we got bundled out for **** all.

Really hoping Henry makes the most of this.
