Radio commentators agreeing, they say in real time they would have said not out, and are surprised that ball tracking showed ball not swinging as much (when it had reached the stumps) as a similar ball earlier in the over (but which was a little more to leg side).

Good point.

Brings up the wider question of whether NZ has enough international quality players to have more single-format players. Perhaps Santner white ball only, Southee red ball only (so more white ball games for Henry + Jamieson / Ticker etc)? Do we follow the example of England who have extended the test careers of Anderson + Broad by reducing workload and reducing risk of white ball habits creeping into red ball cricket.

TJB getting banned for not being able to handle that Smith is Wagner's bunny is great stuff. He's still the best batsman in the world ffs. No shame in being human against Wagner bowling at your throat all day. No one else in cricket bowls bouncers like him.

Tbf Santner often bowls a similar length though.

Yeah I'm always surprised when elite athletes are like this. How can you be such an effective bowler without being analytical and knowing how you usually get your wickets, where batsmen score runs off you etc.
