Holgate was coming in at full speed and Chilwell reacted to avoid contact, so not surprised he wasn't booked.

May seem weird but my instinct was Leno for Man of the Match. Made lots of good saves to stop things being worse for Arsenal which is quite an indictment really I guess.

I'm not sure what has gone on with David Luiz. I always previously thought he was quite good but just prone to being... very David Luiz every now and again.

But his recent displays have led me to think he's just cack.

There seemed to be a bit of a narrative building up around Luiz that he's actually a footballing deity who looks like he stuffs up occasionally because he tries things mere mortals can't and the English don't get him because we're Neanderthals who only appreciate centre halves who's first instinct is to hoof any loose ball into row z.

But yeah, he's just not a very effective defender.

Harry Maguire for 80 million even for United might be one of the silliest transfers over last few years, not much of an improvement on Smalling and looking at the gruesome twosome Fred and Pereira surely the money should have been spent there?

Don’t agree, Maguire is miles better than Smalling ever was for us.

It’s not either/or. We needed reinforcements in lots of places and the funds are there to do it, but we only got them in a few positions.
