*Official* Pakistan in Australia 2019

I hope some of the whole "Wrist spinners are the bomb in Australia" are taking note. Especially Virat. Just because you are a wrist spinner does not mean you are magically able to pick wickets in Australia. You always gotta play your best bowlers, whether its seamers or spinners.
Yasir Shah is one of their best bowlers.

So, it looks like Warner is going to beat his series total in The Ashes in each individual innings he plays in this series. An incredible knock over the past 2 days, if not against an attack that was even partially firing, then at least a show of athleticism and concentration.

One thing that I have noticed during this test and the last from the commentary box is the shortening of 'not out' to 'not' - e.g.: "Warner finishing on 335 not". I mean, congratulations is in order for making up a new phrase that makes them sound like a 10 year old schoolboy, but **** it's annoying. Not least because you know they think they're incredibly ****ing cool for using it. I'd go as far as to say it's twice as annoying as hearing about 'intent' for 4 out of every 6 hours of play each day.

That batting performance this evening was the most hapless, deer in the headlights stuff I've seen in recent times. Babar excluded it was utterly woeful.

Amir retiring really hurt Pakistan didn't it? They really do have no one who can create something on a dead surface. Having said that I didn't get to watch the first two sessions so perhaps they bowled well and Warner was simply the incarnation of Bradman on speed.

Now that Australia had some batsmen at long last, will Smith become mortal? Averages 20 this series, which for him is probably the lowest in this last 5 years. I mean he averaged 40 in Sri Lanka and people hold that against him as being one of his worst performances. He only seems to perform in meaningful contests.

I dont think them having Amir wouldve appreciably changed things but they definitely miss him. People gave him a tough time because he rarely ran through sides like 19 year old Amir which was a bit unfair.

He'd not have made much difference. He'd have kept the runs down at best (like Abbas did).

More importantly, no team needs a bowler who runs away at the sight of a challenge. Say what you want about Yasir and co. being ****, at least they haven't done that.

No question in my mind he'd have liked bowling in the d/n test. The other games, yeah, he'd probably have struggled like the rest of them.

No doubt he'd have fancied it with the new ball when it was hooping about a bit, maybe he'd even have picked up an early wicket. But that did happen yesterday. Problem is, he is exactly the type who will hide on the field when there's nothing happening and Warner and co. are bullying you. So from that perspective, nothing changes substantially, except for the margin of defeat.

You'd rather have someone like Musa or Naseem take their bitter medicine now and hope they eventually turn world class than playing the likes of Amir and Wahab.
