CW Decides The XI of the Decade

MrPrez

International Debutant
Yeah I'm going with Morkel. ~250 wickets at ~26 is an outstanding record, and none of the other bowlers competing with the spot has the solidity (i.e. longevity) of record that he does whilst also fulfilling a similar role. Also seem to recall hearing a few recently retired batsmen offer his name when asked whom they least enjoyed facing.
It's been a thread throughout his career to hear batsmen saying that they hate facing Morkel much more than Steyn. Some SA batsmen borderline refused to face him in the nets, iirc.

Morkel's good but rabada is just a better bowler imo. People are treating it like rabada has played 15 tests or something. The guy has 183 wickets @22 and has been ranked in the top 5 for 3 years. Not like he hasnt bowled first change either.

Rabada.

Morkel the more stable pick but Rabada’s outstanding performances once every few matches would more than make up for it.

If Rabada ever bowls a spell like Morkel did to Clarke, then we can talk.

Until then, that egomaniacal manchild can stay in the broom closet of hackfrauds where he belongs.

Im going Pat Cummins.

83 @ 20.34 when bowling 3rd or 4th is superb. Wagner, Siddle, Rabada, Shami and Morkel were considered.

Cummins batting suits the team more too.

Neil Wagner is the only answer to the third seamer of the decade. Meme value, cricketing value and has guts.

Don't give it to AB, the man didn't even want the gloves. Don't honour the dishonourable

Woefully conditions-dependent side, isn't it?

Two decent but not even remotely near great openers, an exceptional middle order and (Steyn apart) a pace attack which needs Cyclone Tracey and a green top to function. And the spinner is there because he makes all the fat ****s feel better about running around of a Saturday.

Been a pretty **** decade apart from middle order players, hasn't it?

If Mitch Marsh gets picked at six as the allrounder it will top this side out perfectly tbh.
