Yup. Watching from cover. Looks like BJ is in the nets, bowling machine set to 125 and practising forward defensive x 100 for homework.

Are the England bowlers just not having a proper dig across the board? All consistently down on speed
England will randomly do this at times. Day 1 at OT over the winter comes to mind, they'll just decide not to put in a proper shift for a few sessions

Mature stuff from CDG. After hitting 6 and 4 from Archer I thought he would lose patience and have a slash, but he buckled down to some tight bowling in the last hour. Hopefully will get rewarded by post-tea runs.

Santner just seems to get worse and worse with the bat ... really struggling out there atm. Can we even call him an all-rounder?

Such an impressive innings from CDG. I didn't expect him to survive the new ball, whether he would get done by good bowling or throw it away, but he struck a great balance between defence and strokeplay that he's only occasionally done before in his career. And his boundary shots are always just so glorious.

Santner struggling against the short ball here makes me doubly thankful for the CDG and Watling partnership - at least Santner has a chance of surviving here whereas he'd have had none against the brand new ball.
