VAR is pointless. It seems so pointless to hold up games and disallow goals for millimetre-precise offside decisions and balls accidentally brushing attackers' fingernails when there is so much systemic cheating built into the sport. It's like they've sat together and gone "how can we make goals even rarer in an already low-scoring sport" and come up with this.
I mean I don't mind it for offsides in particular because those are reasonably clear cut and goals are such enormously significant events. But the general implementation just doesn't seem very good.

I guess DRS was kind of jank early on too.

I feel offside just now works like DRS would if we removed umpire's call from lbw decisions but told umpires to continue giving benefit of the doubt to the batsmen the way they always have.

You'd end up with a load of marginal decisions going the way of bowlers which wouldn't really feel satisfactory.

I suspect so, and that's always my point to people who want to give that ball shaving the outside corner of leg stump out based on Hawkeye

Fair play Arsenal that is a really good win. Could look back on this day later in the season and see it as a pivotal moment. Huge 3 points that.

Arsenal coming through with a United trademark: the dire-regime-prolonging bullshit victory.

Souness is more miserable imo. Keane has a biting sense of humour that Souness lacks.
I can see what you mean, but Keane often says something over the top in dreariness and then stays silent as if he's just beaten Winston Churchill in a battle of wit. Such a miserable ****.

haha Souness is just dour.

Still occasionally amusing though

Keane's hyperbole is just short of it becoming a parody of himself. It's the way he looks at the other panelists and host like he wants to kill them whenever they dare to laugh a little that makes his contributions especially enjoyable. He'll say something that is harsh, but delivered in an almost staccato way that would seem like a joke if it was said by anyone else. It makes the others laugh nervously as if he is trying to throw in a bit of humour, and then they realise the error of their ways when they realise he was deadly serious.

Keane can be ok tbf. The Neville interview he did in Ireland a few weeks ago which was over 2 hours long was pretty entertaining. He was genuinely warm and amusing and the punters loved it....

However yep their is a but,,,some pretty crappy comments aimed at Walters a reminder why he should never be allowed near management ever again.
