I can remember a time when Lyon didn't look like a complete spanner with the bat. It was a while ago though.

His batting has undergone a few massive transformations over the years. Started out as a solid defender, handy nightwatchman much in the mould of a Jason Gillespie. Then suddenly turned into a Tim Southee-esque slogger and did about equally as well, runs-wise. Now he's just crap.

this is pretty standard captaincy when you have an established batsman on 50+ and a genuine tail ender at the other end

Do it. Unless you've not got much money and you've also got the previous one because they're very similar to the point of it probably not being worth it.

The entire Big Ant series has been solid though IMO.

At the same time Haze is also pretty crap with the bat. Say what you will about Siddle but with the bat he's exactly what you want for a tailender.
