1st Test, Edgbaston, Birmingham

Reverse sweep isn't inherently more dangerous than any other shot, it covers the spin and he plays it well. He'd get crucified if he got out doing it for some reason, rather than if he got caught just prodding his pad forward and getting caught at short leg.
Exactly like that!

Both sides could have a different bowling attack next test. Archer, Leach in for Anderson and Ali. Hazelwood and Starc in for Siddle and Pattinson (to protect Patto).

Think it's going to be easier to list who stays in the XI for the second test than who goes at this rate.

Jimmy is broken, Moeen looks utterly shot, Woakes was blowing out of his arse yesterday, Denly patently not of the requisite quality, Roy not looking a test opener's arsehole and YJB must be on last warning too.
Archer to replace Anderson, Leach to replace Ali, Woakes to play, Northeast to replace Denly or Foakes in and Bairstow bats 4, Sibley in for Roy.

The idea that playing your natural game will give you a better chance of survival than stonewalling and the belief that batsmen always know when they’ve hit it are probably the biggest myths in test cricket. Even with South Africa and DRS busting each one respectively people still persist.

Guys have really shown up today. Every bowler has looked good and Lyon putting Moeen to shame. For all the hate on the Siddle selection he’s done a job this game.

Commentators need something to talk about. Particularly Warne just can't stand to be bored.

I've never understood the idea that a batsman always knows when he's hit it. 100% unprovable. That said I think Denley hoped that DRS wasn't working when he reviewed that.
