Yeah I’m not a huge fan of this new approach he’s taken. He’s such a strong back foot player; if he’s going to be circumspect (which he is fully capable of doing successfully) he really would be best served by doing the traditional English opener thing of staying deep in the crease to give yourself the maximum time to adjust to the movement and being absolutely ruthless on anything short. If Warner bats in his crease he has time to get his bat away from that.

Soft hands, angled bat because he plays it late.I see a definitive difference between how Smith edges through slip and how the rest have. Soft hands, looks like.
So was Slater in 2005 before years of over exposure to the channel 9 commentary box turned into squawking goose.Warne actually a reasonable commentator on sky
Don’t be ridiculous. Australia are 2 for -25Pitch looks flat, Aus on top now I think given Lyon will be a danger on this deck.
Aus on top? They’re still 25 behind, 2 wickets down.Pitch looks flat, Aus on top now I think given Lyon will be a danger on this deck.
Add two wickets to the score etc. etc.Pitch looks flat, Aus on top now I think given Lyon will be a danger on this deck.
