Howsie

He’s a 150k pacer who can bat, bowls well at the death and was just picked up this season for the IPL. He must have something going for him.

Also showed in his brief stint in the IPL, that he's a quick learner.

Eh, I'm not particularly excited about Kugz as an LO cricketer. He's quick, but not in the way Ferguson and Milne are (Kugz generally operates in the high 130's to low 140's from what I've seen), and his domestic record doesn't exactly scream pick me. Reckon he'd have more of a future in the test game as a first change.

Did suggest this before, but tbf he looked all at sea against Chris Morris at Edgbaston, unusually so for a test opener.

He's still the best option in the middle order against quality spin and you need a guy like him to come out when it's 80 for 3. The problem at Old Trafford was it was a death overs scenario and they really should have sent in Neesham and CdG ahead of him.

Nicholls also an option for this role but he's less adept at rotating the strike IMO.
The solution for him then is the same as Khawaja for Australia - he floats. 80/3, in you go. 230/3 (38) you may not get a hit. Stiff ****. That’s the game.

I agree with this, looked quick enough but not 150k surely. Decent enough cricketer to have in the mix, and with others like Tickner, Jameison and maybe Wheeler around there's definitely a core to build towards 2023.

He kissed 150 in a T20 match, but that's T20 and I kinda think he was given the instruction to bowl flat out as we were resting Lockie in that game. Also, he'd - errr - been discussed in the opinion columns quite a bit that week, and if what Flem says is true, that might've fired him up.

Fire him up for the rest of his career for all I care, the guy still bowls with proper pace.

I’d imagine the next cycle he’ll get plenty of game time in this ODI team.

Never change Howsie. He'd be 135km by your reckoning if he was born in another region.

There's your slogan for the Waikato border - Add 15km/ph in Hamilton.

Terrible for these two teams to have to spend time in Birmingham. Total **** hole

my first and probably only post this world cup as I have been totally disgruntled by the Mickey-Sarfraz-Inzi trio for the past two years with how they have handled things.. I want Pakistan to always do well but this time I am not rooting to see late tournament surge which gets Pakistan the final four place as this will allow the team management to save their skin post world cup and continue to butcher Pakistan team according to their wishes.

Everyone and their grandmother knew that backing almost 40 Malik and Hafeez on the name of experience will backfire big time these two have been garbage outside Asia even during their so called peak so why was the team management blinded to this and continued to back them when youngsters like Saud,Usman, Saad continue to toil in domestic cricket and now everyone is up in arms after Malik stinks up the joint.

Pak fans are ridiculous, on Pakpassion every thread is about bashing Imam and Babar calling them selfish and cowards just because they are not as good as Kohli and Rohit. At 23 and 24 Babar and Imam are still best Pakistani odi pair post Inzi-Mo Yo. This was not their world cup to win if they continue to improve it will take another WC to reach their peak. This batting line up should have been build around Haris @ 30 he is at peak of his career and arguably the best batsman in the country but he has been just relegated to a bench player for pst 2 years covering in for Hafeez and Malik when they are rested/injured. Rizwan after scoring 2 centuries in the odi series vs Australia was dropped just so Sarfraz does not face extra pressure and Asif Ali was picked up instead with a List A average of 26 the think tank suddenly thought he is good enough to smash Bumrah and Starc of this world.

I will not deny part of my heart wants to see a typical Pakistan late tournament revival but when looking at it logically it is more important these buffoons are made to pay for their errors.

Haha disagree tbh.
I'd agree with Ziznan if we're talking Tests, but ODI's - at least wrt bowling - avoiding getting exposed has to come into equation. The ideal method is to just bowl Henry out before the 35th (and that's what New Zealand try to do) but sometimes that isn't an option and while's he great with the new ball 8 times out of 10, the other two could really, really hurt. At least with Southee he's more ineffective than a genuine liability.

He has actually gone at over 8s in 2 out of his last 8 ODIs (25%).
Fair enough. Though JAMODI's tend to be higher scoring than WC matches.
