Full deserved win, bar Stokes they all batted as if someone else would take care of it. Vince, Moeen, Woakes and Archers shots disgraceful. Moeen the worst by a distance though.
I've not seen Moeen's but surely Vince's is worse considering he's a top order batsman and we were on 20/1 or whatever it was

According to him it’s a World Cup with only three teams involved. England are suppose to be the all powerful will make 350 plus every time they bat super team.
it's genuinely wild that think the **** off ludicrous scores that happen outside WCs are representative of actual pressure WC games. thrashing Afghanistan and SA belting WI for 400+ (before 2015) tells you nothing about how you'll perform in tough chases in important games and yet people still fall for it

If BD win two more, SL will need to beat two out of WI, SA and Ind to make it. I reckon BD's chances are better
Should both SL and BD pick up 2 wins going forward and England flop through the last 3 games it would be a real ****ing shame about the washout earlier in the tournament

It's a goddamn shame anyway, one of these teams could be neck and neck with Eng currently

nah all Moeen has to do is vaguely normally and they canter home with time to spare. instead he decides that one six off the over isn't enough

What a game, played Stokes.

Moeen just can't deal with pressure can he. Almost every England loss seems to have him playing a spineless shot.
Meh I really wouldn't blame Moeen for what he did today. That's basically what he does imo. High pressure or low pressure. Just the low pressure dismissals get a lol moeen, whereas the high pressure ones he tends to get a lot of criticism. He's never being reliable - England must know that. Sometimes he comes off, most of the time he doesn't. A couple of years ago when moeen was struggling with bat and ball I suggested giving Dawson a run in the team. A much less talented batsman, but a bit more secure and reliable, who would offer a bit more solidity at 7. Under normal circumstances most teams would take Moeen at 7 and he could just thrash it around, but England with their attacking bats earlier sometimes need a composed 40* off 60 balls - Moeen just doesn't have that skill which is ironic given you'd expect he'd have that skill given he's batted in the top 3 for England in test cricket.

Every time a captain lets the set batsman farm the strike for 5 balls and then banks on attacking the tail ender for the final ball of the over I will remember when Nuwan Pradeep managed to actually pull it off in a WC game

Eng bullied listless Afgh and BD bowling attacks batting first, dismantled a poor SA side batting first, and pummeled a WI team that's so bad they lost defending 322 in 40 overs Vs BD.

They fell apart in their two run chases Vs Pak and SL.

They better hope they win the toss these next few games.

I don't think people are quite appreciating what a great ball it actually was tbh. Perfect delivery to get the edge.

Not defending his shot whatsoever, or indeed his trend of bottling it in these situations, but I don't think it was as straightforward as 'all he had to do was bat vaguely normally' given that no-one had found it easy in the game, especially nearer the start of their innings, so far

If the problem is 'this pitch is tricky to bat on', the solution is never 'let me try to clear long-off'

Moeen Ali proving that experiences means **** all in Cricket. I mean I remember at least half a dozen similar dismissals of his in situations where the only thing required of him is to not be dismissed. If you are a dumb ass, you are going to do dumb ass things. They just can't help it. Moeen Ali and Ravi Jadeja of the same club. At least Moeen doesn't pull the "this is totally the first time this is ever happening to me" headshake.
