Not really nitpicking. With such a good platform that was a limp innings.
Just goes to show there's more to six hitting than just casually knocking it over the short boudary. We had pretty outstanding knocks from Roy and Buttler

Pretty good death bowling by Bangladesh in the scheme of things, but still the total is imposing.

Yep. Full credit to England for their platform, even if they haven't quite made the most of it in the last few overs. Still, this should be a good hundred more than what Bangladesh will chase.

England not making full use of the opportunity. With such good platform and horrible fielding from Bdesh they should have gone for 400. Looks like will do around 360 runs.

Yeah but that's my point. If you saw someone with Waugh's stats today you'd say they were complete garbage and not a good player for his era.
Comparing to their own eras, there is a fair argument that Roy has been at least as good a player though. Roy averages 42 and a great SR which is roughly in line with a very good opener in todays cricket. Waugh averaged low 30s with a decent strike rate, which is roughly in line with a good middle order player in his era.

Yeah and that's all fair. My point was that in ten years time we'll get people who simply compare numbers and think one player is way better than another based on their playing in an easier era for batting.

Like, I would say that Greenidge was a better batsman than Hayden in ODIs, despite Hayden having a better strike rate. Borges argument is that we'll start to consider Roy to be better than players like Hayden/Greenidge based purely on his numbers, despite them not being comparable due to playing conditions.
