The ATG Teams General arguing/discussing thread

GoodAreasShane

Cricketer Of The Year
Have you seen his famous spell against Atherton in 1998? He blew a fuse that day
Yeah, was quite something to watch, he wasn't usually like that though, something of an exception to the rule.

Contrast that with Broad's attempts to maim poor Zulquarnain Haider back in that day

Tbf, anyone wouldve been mad after running in at full speed all day and having a wicket taken away by an awful umpiring decision and another to a dropped catch. He almost made Boucher cry.

Shout out to Michael Holding, who once kicked off the bails and was overly fond of the bouncer.

Yeah not enough 80s West Indians in that side.

Ambrose should get a look in as well. Not that you ever wanted to get him heated up.

Gambhir and Nel worth a shout too.

Does simply being a mouthy prick qualify someone or do they also have to have been decent?

Surely Steyn counts - at least on the field.

If we're picking on level of hot-head before ability, Nel is the first name on the scorecard.

Javed Miandad and Rodney Hogg would be great additions to the hot-head team.

Is this the strongest team that could be produced using players whose first name and surname start with the same letter?

Gordon Greenidge
Graham Gooch
Richie Richardson
Steve Smith
Colin Cowdrey
Chris Cairns
Tatenda Taibu +
Malcolm Marshall
Colin Croft
Bishen Bedi
Muttiah Muralitharan
Only just seen this post. It might be the best side although Bill Brown was a very good opener as well but with a much shorter career than Gooch.
I wonder if Billy Barnes or Billy Bates might be a replacement Chris Cairns. Two early all rounders who both died at a young age.

I would consider Robert 'Jack' Russell for the keeper spot and as mentioned earlier Peter Pollock for Croft.
