not true...unlike South Africa, they have not under-achieved in comparison to potential. They reached final of 3 World Cups, and after 1996 they didn't have the side to do that.

Famously underrated ODI talents around the squad like Hick, Fairbrother, Knight, Mullally and Ealham, most who were in form to go with actual renowned names in Stewart and Gough

Plus home ground advantage and coming off a solid showing in the 98/99 tri series where they beat the two previous WC finalists a few times each.
